For the occasion of its bicentennial. the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences had a documentary made in 2008 about the history of their seat, the Trippenhuis in Amsterdam. In it, we see the history of what began as a mansion for two brothers who were dealing in arms, then became a national art gallery and ended up as the headquarters of the academy. This documentary is shown in its entirety below (approx. 15 minutes). |
